An Act to a m e n d in cer ta in respects t h e
" G o v e r n m e n t Rai lways Act of 1888."

WH E R E A S m e n c e m e n t of t h e " G o v e r n m e n t Ra i lways A c t of 1 8 8 8 "
it is expedient t h a t t h e t ime l imited for t h e com­
should he e x t e n d e d ; a n d t h a t t he salary g ran ted by t h e said Ac t to
t h e Chief Commissioner should be increased. Be it therefore enac ted
by t h e Queen ' s Most Exce l l en t Majesty , by a n d wi th t he advice a n d
consent of t h e Legis la t ive Council and Legis la t ive Assembly of N e w
South W a l e s in P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of t h e

same, as follows :—

1 . This A c t m a y be cited as t he " Gove rnmen t Ra i lways A c t
2. N o t w i t h s t a n d i n g a n y t h i n g in t he second section of t he

" Gove rnmen t Rai lways A c t of 1888 , " t h e da te of the c o m m e n c e m e n t of t h e said A c t for t he purposes of t h e said section shal l be such day no t la ter t h a n six calendar mon ths after t h e pass ing of th is A c t as the

Governor wi th t h e advice of t h e E x e c u t i v e Council shall , by a pro­
c lamat ion to be publ ished in t h e Gazette, appoin t a n d declare ; and

no twi th s t and ing a n y t h i n g in t h e t e n t h section of t h e said A c t t h e a n n u a l salary of t he Chief Commissioner shall be Three Thousand Pounds , and the said t e n t h section shall be read as if t he words " Three T h o u s a n d " h a d been the re in contained instead of the words

" Two Thousand five h u n d r e d . "
