An Act to amend the Government Insurance Act, 1927, to enable the
Government Insurance Office of New South Wales to be referred to as

the GIO in certain documents issued for the purpose of certain legal

proceedings. [Assented to, 13th June, 1984.]

3E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1.     This Act may be cited as the "Government Insurance (Amendment)

Act, 1984".

Amendment of Act No. 18, 1927.

2.      The Government Insurance Act, 1927, is amended by inserting after

section 18 the following section:—

References in certain documents to the GIO.

18A. It shall be sufficient in any document issued for the purpose of any legal proceedings to which the Office is a party to refer to the Office as the GIO or by means of an expression of a similar nature and any such reference in any such document shall be read and construed as if it were a reference to the Office.
