His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009:

(a)

to declare that the Greater Sydney Commission is to be regarded as a subsidiary agency to the Department of Planning and Environment for the purposes of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, and

(b)

to revise the list of parent agencies and subsidiary agencies under that Act by removing redundant references to authorities that have been abolished (namely, the Chipping Norton Lake Authority, the Lake Illawarra Authority and the Marine Parks Authority) and updating references to certain Government Departments as a result of administrative changes.

This Regulation is made under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, including section 129
(the general regulation-making power) and clause 6 of Schedule 4.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Government Information (Public Access) Amendment
(Subsidiary Agencies) Regulation 2016.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009

(1) Schedule 3 Agencies declared to be part of other agencies

Omit the matter relating to Chipping Norton Lake Authority, Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority, Lake Illawarra Authority, Library Council of New South Wales, Marine Parks Authority, Mine Subsidence Board and New South Wales Film and Television Office (also known as Screen NSW).

Insert in appropriate order:

Greater Sydney Commission Department of Planning and Environment
Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority Department of Justice
Library Council of New South Wales Department of Justice
Mine Subsidence Board Department of Finance, Services and
Innovation
New South Wales Film and Television Office Department of Justice
(also known as Screen NSW)
(2) Schedule 3, “Parent agency” column (except where otherwise amended by this
clause)
Omit “Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services”, “Office of Finance and Services” and “Department of Education and Communities” wherever occurring.
Insert instead “Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development”, “Department of Finance, Services and Innovation” and “Department of Education”, respectively.
