GOVERNMENT GUARANTEES (AMENDMENT)

ACT.

An Act to make certain provisions with respect to the issue of government guarantees for the repayment of loans to permanent building societies; for this purpose to amend the Government Guarantees Act, 1934-1948; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to,

BE	it enacted by the Queen ' s M o s t Excellent Majesty, by a n d wi th the advice a n d consent of the Legislative Counci l a n d Legislative Assembly of N e w South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled, a n d by the au thor i ty of the same, as
f o l l o w s :  —

1. ( 1 ) Th i s A c t m a y b e cited as the " G o v e r n m e n t

Gua ran t ee s ( A m e n d m e n t ) Ac t , 1 9 6 4 " .

( 2 ) T h e G o v e r n m e n t Gua ran tees Ac t , 1934 , as

a m e n d e d b y subsequent Ac t s a n d by this Ac t , m a y be cited as

the G o v e r n m e n t Gua ran tees Ac t , 1934 -1964 .

2. T h e G o v e r n m e n t Gua ran t ee s Ac t , 1 9 3 4 , as a m e n d e d

by subsequent Ac t s , is a m e n d e d —

(a)	by omitting from subsection two of section three
the w o r d " b u i l d i n g " and by insert ing in l ieu thereof
the words " te rmina t ing b u i l d i n g " ;

( b ) b y inser t ing in subsect ion (2A ) of section th ree

after the w o r d " t h a t " the words " w h e r e the bui ld ing

society is a t e rmina t ing bui ld ing soc ie ty" ;

{e) ( i ) b y omi t t ing f rom p a r a g r a p h ( e ) of sect ion

four the words " the unde r t ak ing a n d asse t s" a n d by insert ing in lieu thereof the words " such

of the p r o p e r t y " ;

(ii) by inser t ing in t h e same p a r a g r a p h after the

w o r d "soc ie ty" where lastly occur r ing the

words "a s is charged b y those securities o r any of t h e m with the r epaymen t of the debt gua ran t eed" .
