AN ACT to amend the Government Employees

(Promotions Appeal Board) Act, 1945-1956.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent. of the Legislative Council and the Legislative. Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Government

Employees (Promotions Appeal Board) Act Amend-

ment Act, 1960.

be fixed by proclamation.

amended. 3. Section three of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by adding after the word, "department" in line one of the interpretation "Depart- ment", the passage, ", except the Education Department,";
(b)	by adding after the passage, "department," in line three of the interpretation "Employee", the passage "except t h e Education Department,".

amended. 4. Section five of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by deleting the passage, ", which is not that of a teacher in any Government school as defined in section three of the Education Act, 1928, or in any teachers' training college established or maintained under that Act, but" in line two of subparagraph (i) of paragraph (a) of the proviso to sub- section (1);
(b)	by deleting the word, "or" in line four of subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (a) of the proviso to subsection (1); and
(c)	by repealing subparagraphs (iii) and (iv) of paragraph (a) of the proviso to subsection (1) and the word, "or" between those sub- paragraphs.

amended. 5. Section six of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by deleting the passage, "the State School Teachers' Union of W.A., Incorporated," in lines six, seven and eight of subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of subsection (2); and
(b)	by repealing paragraph (b) of subsection (3).

6. Section fourteen of the principal Act is amended.

amended

(a)	by deleting the word, "but" in the last line of paragraph (d) of the interpretation "Seniority" in subsection (3); and
(b)	by repealing paragraph (da) of the inter- pretation "Seniority" in subsection (3).

7. The Schedule to the principal Act is amended %%Veil

by deleting the passage, "Education Act, 1928-1943,
