AN ACT to amend the Government Employees

(Promotions Appeal Board) Act, 1945-1953.

[Assented to 4th November, 1954.]

BE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Government

(2) In this Act the Government Employees

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Government Employees (Promo- tions Appeal Board) Act, 1945-1954.

2. The interpretation "Department" in section three of the principal Act is amended by adding after

(a)

the word, "Concern" in line five of the interpretation the words, "The Western Australian Transport Board, the State Electricity Commission of Western Aus- tralia,";

(b)

the words, "Rural and Industries Bank of Western Australia" in line twelve of the interpretation the words, "The term also includes any department, concern, hospital, Crown instrumentality, board, body cor- porate or other body of whatever description, declared by the Governor by proclamation to be a department within the meaning of this Act."

5A. (1) The Governor may by proclamation declare that any department, concern, hospital, Crown instrumentality, board, body corporate or other body of whatever description is a depart- ment within the meaning of this Act.

(2) A proclamation made under the provisions of subsection (1) of this section may from time to time be revoked or varied.
