TAX SUSPENSION.

An Act to Suspend the Tax imposed by the Gold Tax Act 1939.
[Assented to 27th November, 1947.]
BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and
the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short
title.
1. This Act may be cited as the Gold
Tax Suspension Act 1947.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the
twentieth day of September, One thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
Extension
to Territories.
3. This Act shall extend to every Territory under the authority of
the Commonwealth.
Suspension
of Gold Tax.
4. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Gold Tax Act 1939, tax shall not be imposed or payable under that
Act in respect of gold delivered in accordance with the provisions of section
thirty-two of the Banking Act 1945
