AN ACT to amend the Gold Buyers Act, 1921.

[Assented to 26th January, 1949.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Gold Buyers Act Amendment Act, 1948, and shall be read as one with the Gold Buyers Act, 1921 (No. 28 of 1921). hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

deleting from line six of the definition "Gold

inserting after the word "Act" in line two of the definition "Prescribed" a definition as follows :-

inserting after the word "gold" in paragraph

(2), line one, the words "or gold matter";

(b) deleting paragraph (6).

subsection (2), paragraph (c), line one;

(c)

subsection (2), paragraph (d), line one.

Amendment of

12. Section twenty-seven. of the principal Act is

amended by

(a) inserting the words "or wrought gold" after

the word "gold" in-

(i) subsection (1), lines four, six and

seven ;

(ii)    subsection (2), line two, where the word

"gold" appears thirdly;

(h) deleting from subsection two the word "gold"

appearing secondly in line two.

13. Section twenty-nine of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word "Act" in subsection (14), line six, the following:-

14. Section thirty-two of the principal Act is amended

substituting for the word "ore" appearing firstly and secondly in line two the word "matter";

(b)

substituting for the words "the premises of any holder of any license under the Licensing Act, 1911." in lines three and four, the words "any premises in respect of which is held any license under the provisions of the Licens- ing Act, 1911.-1946i
