GAUDRON J:   This matter was heard in Canberra by a Court constituted by Justices McHugh, Kirby, Hayne, Callinan and myself on 6 March 1998.  We are in a position to make orders in this matters and our reasons will be published in due course. 

The order of the Court is:

1.  Appeal allowed.

2.  Set aside the order of the Court of Appeal of Queensland and in lieu thereof order that the appeal to that court be allowed, the convictions quashed and a new trial ordered on counts 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
