GERALDTON HARBOUR WORKS

RAILWAY EXTENSION.

AN ACT to authorise the construction of a Railway to extend the Geraldton Harbour Works Railway to the industrial area of Geraldton.

[Assented to 5th October, 1939.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Geraldton Harbour

Works Railway Extension Act, 1939.

2. It shall be lawful for the Minister for Works or '"-ugrutg t°

for the Minister for Railways, as the case may require, to construct and maintain, under and in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1902-1933, or of the Government Railways Act, 1904-1933, as the case may be, a railway, with all necessary, proper, and usual works and conveniences in connection therewith as an extension of the Geraldton Harbour Works Railway con- structed under the authority of the Geraldton Harbour Works Railway Act, 1923 (No. 44 of 1923), between the points and along the line described in the Schedule to this Act, and more particularly defined and delineated

and coloured red on the plan marked C.C.E. 32686 and

prepared for the purposes of section ninety-six of the

Public Works Act, 1902-1933.

SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OP LINE OP RAILWAY.

Commencing at a point on the existing Geraldton Harbour Works Railway about 1 mile 1 chain from the zero mileage near Geraldton station and proceeding thence in a generally south south-westerly direction for about eleven chains, thence in a generally southerly direction for about 16 chains, terminating at a point about 15 links eastward from the south-eastern corner of Geraldton Lot 1143, as is more particularly delineated and coloured red on a map marked C.C.E. 32686, deposited pursuant to 2 Edward VII., No. 47, section 96.

Total length about 27 chains.
