AN ACT to authorise the Construction of a

Railway from Geraldton to Greenough.

[ Assented to, 12th July, 1886. ]

HEREAS it is expedient to authorise the construction and maintenance of a Railway from Geraldton to Greenough: Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :-

Preanhle.

1.

THIS Act may be cited as " The Geraldton-Greenough

Short Title.

Railway Act, 1886."

2.     IT shall be lawful to construct and maintain a Railway from Power to eon-Writer

Geraldton to Greenough, with all necessary, proper, and usual Railway fromGerala- works and conveniences in connection therewith, in the line and ton to Green"OL upon the lands described in the Schedule to this Act.

In the name and on behalf of the Queen I hereby assent

to this Act.

DESCRIPTION OF LINE OF RAILWAY FRONT GERALDTON TO GREENOUGH.

This line starts at a point on the Geraldton-Northampton Railway, 2m. 9c. 71. from Geraldton, out of Ord Street, Suburban to the Town of Geraldton, with a curve of 20c. rad. to the right, the chord of which bears 99° 31', through Suburban Lots 23, 24, 25, and 26, belonging to the Crown, into Crown Waste Lands, for a distance of 38c. 151.; thence by a straight line bearing 154° 10' across th, terminating in Waste Crown Lands, for a distance of lm. 40c. 901. ; thence by a curve of 60c. rad. to the left, the chord of which bears 139° 10', for 31c. 4111.; thence

by a straight line bearing 124° 10', out of Crown Waste Lands, across Eastern Road, and through

Crown Lands S 1633, S 699, Victoria Loc. 700, and Crown Lands, terminating in Geraldton Race- course Ground 1229, for lm. 48c. 431. ; thence by a curve to the right of 40c. rad., the chord of which bears 133° 59', out of 1229, into S 856, for 13c. 7011.; thence by a straight line bearing 143° 48', for lm. 62c. 241., out of S 856, into Crown Lands ; thence by a curve of 60c. rad. to left, the chord of which bears 135° 40' for 17c. 31., out of Crown Lands, into S. 624 ; thence by a straight line bearing 127° 32', out of S 624, through Victoria Loc. 215, into Crown Lauds, for a distance of 63c. 921.; thence by a curve of 50c. rad., the chord of which bears 135° 19', for 13e. 581.; thence

by a straight line bearing 143° 6', out of Crown Lands, into 305, for 47c. 2711. ; thence by a curve

60c. rad. to the right, the chord of which bears 150° 59', out of 305, into Crown Lands, for 16c. 511.; thence by a straight line bearing 158° 52', out of Crown Lands, terminating in Victoria Loc. 240, for 35c. 4511.; thence by a curve of 40c. rad. to let, the chord of which bears 146° 50' 30", out of Loc 214, into Crown Lands, for 16c. 791. ; thence by a straight line bearing 134° 49', out of Crown Lands, through 918, 1344, S 62, and 1175, Victoria District, across Bootenal Road, through Loc. 1016, across 1 chain road leading to R. C. Chapel, through Locs. 1366 and 415, across Georgina Road, and terminating in Victoria Loc. 418, running parallel to and one chain from S.W. side of Edward Road, for 3m. 69c. 631. thence by a curve of 90c. rad. to right, the chord of which bears 138° 39' 30", for 12c. 71.; thence by a straight line bearing 142° 30', out of 418, across part of Loc. 252, 1 chain road, and the second part of Loc. 252, through Loc. 420, S. 845, S 1103, and S 1673, across Bilacartney Road, through Locs. 1020 and 1019, across Short Road, through Locs. 100 and 424, and terminating in Loc. 426, for 4m. 35c. 821. ; thence by a curve 30c. rad. to right, the chord of which bears 161° 39' 30", for 20c. 61.; thence by a straight line bearing 180° 49', out of Victoria Loc. 426, and terminating at the North boundary of Evans Road, passing again through Victoria Loc. 100, and running parallel to and one chain from Padbury Road ; the total length of line being 17m. 53c. 301.
