An Act to repeal the Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Act 2003 and to consequentially amend the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007.

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1 – Preliminary1.Short title

This is the Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Repeal Act 2016.

2.Commencement

This Act comes into operation as follows —

• (a)

  Part 1 — on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent;

• (b)

  the rest of the Act — on the day after that day.

Part 2 – Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Act 2003 repealed3.Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Act 2003 repealed

The Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Act 2003 is repealed.

Part 3 – Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 amended4.Act amended

This Part amends the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007.

5.Section 4 amended

Delete section 4(2)(e).
