GENERAL LOAN ACCOUNT APPROPRIA­

TION ACT.

Act No. 2, 1945.

An Act to provide for the appropriation of a certain sum out of the General Loan Account and for the application of that sum for certain Public Works and Services; and for purposes connected therewith. [As­ sented to, 6th March, 1945.]

WH E R E A S the Austral ian Loan Council a t its of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, seventh meeting held on the twenty-fourth day decided in pursuance of Clause 3 (h) of P a r t 1 of the
Agreement set ou t in the schedule to the Financial Agreement Ratification Act, 1 9 2 8 , as varied from t ime to t ime t h a t the amoun t to be borrowed for the loan programmes of the Commonwealth and the States for the financial year ending on the th i r t ie th day of June , one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, shall be sixteen million five hundred and eighty-four thousand pounds, and b y unanimous decision allocated an amount of six million eight hundred and sixty-four thousand pounds to the Sta te of New South Wales for purposes other t h a n revenue deficits, A N D WHEREAS , a t the fifty-fourth meeting of the Austral ian Loan Council held on the eleventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, i t was unanimously decided t h a t for the durat ion of t he war or unt i l otherwise determined by the Australian Loan Council, advances to the States to meet expenditure in connection with approved loan programmes shall be made b y the Commonwealth Government from finance provided b y the Commonwealth Bank upon the security of Commonwealth Treasury Bills, A N D WHEREAS t h e Governments agreed to utilise to the u tmos t ex ten t cash resources for financing approved loan programmes before having recourse to advances under these arrangements , A N D WHEREAS i t is no t considered desirable to have recourse to advances b y the Commonwealth Government for the financing of the Sta te ' s loan programme

programme during the financial year ending on the thi r t ie th day of June , one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, B E i t enacted therefore by the King 's Most Excellent Majesty, b y and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Par l iament assembled, and by the au thor i ty of the same as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the "General Loan Account Appropriat ion Act, 1 9 4 5 . "

2 . The sum of six million nine hundred and forty-eight thousand eight hundred pounds is hereby appropr ia ted from the General Loan Account for the public works and services hereunder set out, and shall, as required be applied as follows :—
