Gas Safety (Gas Quality) (Amendment) Regulations
2000
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe new standards of quality for natural gas conveyed in transmission and distribution pipelines.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 118 of the Gas Safety Act 1997.
3. New definition inserted
In regulation 4 of the Gas Safety (Gas Quality)
Regulations 19991, after the definition of "heating
value" insert—' "inert gas" means any substance which exists
predominantly in a gaseous state at 15ºC
temperature and 101·325 kPa absolute
pressure and which remains substantially

gaseous fuel;'.
4. New Schedules 1 and 2 substituted
For Schedules 1 and 2 to the Gas Safety (Gas
Quality) Regulations 1999 substitute—
