An Act to amend the Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, with respect to the election of councillors, and the passing of resolutions at special meetings. of The Sydney County Council. [Assented to, 12th April, 1983.]

Gas and Electricity (Amendment).

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the "Gas and Electricity (Amendment) Act,

1983".

Amendment of Act No. 42,1935.

2.      The Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, is amended in the manner set forth

in Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1.

(Sec. 2.)

AMENDMENTS TO THE GAS AND ELECTRICITY ACT, 1935.

(1) Section 42 ( 2 A ) —

After section 42 (2), insert:—

(2A) A candidate for election as a councillor shall not, in respect

of an election, be nominated for more than one constituency.

(2) Section 62 (2 )—

Omit "and the number of members voting for such resolution is

three or more".
