GAS AND ELECTRICITY

An Act to make certain provisions in relation to loans raised by the Sydney County Council; to amend the Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, in certain respects; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 22nd July, 1936.] BE

(AMENDMENT) ACT.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of
the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Gas and Elec- tricity (Amendment) Act, 1936."

(2) The Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the "Gas and Electricity Act, 1935-1936."

2 . (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, or in any other Act, any loan raised by the Sydney County Council after the com­ mencement of this Act shall rank pari passu with any liability imposed upon that Council by section fifty of the Gas and Electricity Act, 1935.

(2) The Gas and Electricity Act, 1935, is amended—

(a) by inserting in paragraph (b) of subsection two of section fifty-five after the word " l o a n s " the words "ordinary loans, renewal loans" ;
(b) by inserting after the same paragraph the fol­ lowing new paragraph:—

(bl) the power to raise loans (as ordinary loans) for the purpose of discharging any liability imposed on the Sydney County Council by section fifty of this Act.
