JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Gaming Machines Act 2001, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 11 January 2002 as the day on which sections 44, 210 (1) and 211 of that Act, and clause 1 of Schedule 1 to that Act, commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Gaming Machines Act 2001 that prohibit the displaying of gambling-related signs in relation to hotels and registered clubs and that enable the making of regulations of a savings or transitional nature.
