s1 3 s4 Gaming Legislation Amendment (No. 1) No. 13, 2000 PART 1—PRELIMINARY ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Gaming Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2000 . PART 2—AMENDMENT OF CASINO CONTROL REGULATION 1999 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 2 2. This part amends the Casino Control Regulation 1999 . ˙ Amendment of sch 3 (Matters in respect of which information may be required of investigated persons (entities)) 3. Schedule 3, ‘section 11’— omit, insert — ‘section 10’. PART 3—AMENDMENT OF INTERACTIVE GAMBLING (PLAYER PROTECTION) REGULATION 1998 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 3 4. This part amends the InteractiveGambling(PlayerProtection)Regulation 1998 .

s5 4 s7 Gaming Legislation Amendment (No. 1) No. 13, 2000 ˙ Insertion of new s 3A 5. After section 3— insert — ˙ ‘ Prescribed period for registration as a restricted player—Act, s 18(6)(a) ‘ 3A. For section 18(6)(a) 1 of the Act, the period is 2 months from the day of registration.’. ˙ Insertion of new ss 4A and 4B 6. After section 4— insert — ˙ ‘ Prescribed amount for deposits to player’s account of a restricted player—Act, s 20A(a) ‘ 4A. For section 20A(a) 2 of the Act, the amount is $500.00. ˙ ‘ Prescribed period for deposits to player’s account of a restricted player—Act, s 20A(b) ‘ 4B. For section 20A(b) of the Act, the period is a period when the player is a restricted player.’. ˙ Insertion of new s 16A 7. After section 16— insert — ˙ ‘ Prescribed period to continue interrupted game—Act, s 159A(2)(b) ‘ 16A. For section 159A(2)(b) 3 of the Act, the period is 6 months from the day the game was interrupted.’. 1 Section 18 (Procedure for registration) of the Act 2 Section 20A (Restrictions on deposits for player’s account) of the Act 3 Section 159A (Interrupted games) of the Act

s8 5 s9 Gaming Legislation Amendment (No. 1) No. 13, 2000 PART 4—AMENDMENT OF KENO REGULATION 1997 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 4 8. This part amends the Keno Regulation 1997 . ˙ Amendment of s 2 (Definitions) 9.(1) Section 2, definition “totalisator”— omit. (2) Section 2— insert— ‘ “totalisator” see Wagering Act 1998 , section 8. 4 ’. 4 The Wagering Act 1998 , section 8 reads as follows— ‘ Meaning of “totalisator” 8.(1) A “totalisator” is a system used— (a) to enable persons to invest money on events or contingencies with a view to successfully predicting specified outcomes of the events or contingencies; and (b) to enable the totalisator pool to be divided and distributed among the persons who successfully predict the outcomes. (2) A “totalisator” also includes an instrument, machine or device under which the system mentioned in subsection (1) is operated. (3) In subsection (1)(b), a reference to the totalisator pool is a reference to the amount left from the investments after— (a) making allowances for refunds of investments; and (b) deducting any amount payable by way of commission for the conduct of the totalisator.’.

This part amends the Lotteries Regulation 1997 . ˙ Amendment of s 3 (Definitions) 11.(1) Section 3, definition “golden casket winning number generator”— omit. (2) Section 3— insert — ‘ “lottery random number generator” means a device designed and used to select, at random and 1 at a time, the winning numbers in a drawing of an approved lottery.’. ˙ Insertion of new s 10A 12. After section 10— insert — ˙ ‘ Designated lottery for claims for prizes—Act, s 129(5) ‘ 10A. For section 129(5) 5 of the Act, definition “reference period”, paragraph (a), Probability Instant Scratch-Its is a designated lottery.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 2 (Regulated lottery equipment) 13.(1) Schedule 2, ‘golden casket winning number generator’— omit. 5 Section 129 (Claims for prizes)
