Act No. 109, 1978.

An Act to reduce the additional supplementary license tax payable by clubs under the Gaming and Betting (Poker Machines) Taxation Act, 1956; and to amend the Gaming and Betting Act, 1912, consequentially. [Assented to, 20th December,

1978.1

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1.     This Act may be cited as the "Gaming and Betting (Poker

Machines) Amendment Act, 1 9 7 8 " .

2. This Act contains the following Schedules :—

SCHEDULE 1.—AMENDMENTS TO THE GAMING AND

BETTING (POKER MACHINES) TAXATION ACT, 1 9 5 6 .

SCHEDULE 2.—AMENDMENTS TO THE GAMING AND

BETTING ACT, 1 9 1 2 .

3 . The Gaming and Betting (Poker Machines) Taxation Act,

1 9 5 6 , is amended in the manner set forth in Schedule 1.

4.     The Gaming and Betting Act, 1 9 1 2 , is amended in the

manner set forth in Schedule 2 .

SCHEDULE 1.

AMENDMENTS TO THE GAMING AND BETTING (POKER MACHINES)

TAXATION ACT, 1 9 5 6 .

( 1 ) Section 6 ( 1 ) , proviso—

Omit "seventy-eight", insert instead "seventy-nine".

( 2 ) Section 6 ( 1 ) , Schedule-

Omit " 2 % " wherever occurring, insert instead "1 1/2%".
