An Act to amend the definitions of " Principal

Ac t" and " race-meeting " in the Gaming and

Betting Act, 1906 ; to amend section twenty and subsection one of section twenty-eight

of the said Act. [28th December, 1906.]

Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative
authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the " Gaming and Betting (Amendment) Act, 1906 , " and shall be construed with the Gaming and Betting Act, 1906.

2. Section two of the Gaming and Betting Act, 1906, is

amended—

(a) in the definition of "Principal Act" by inserting the word

" houses " after the word " betting " ;

(b) in the definition of "race-meeting" by omitting the word

" excluding " and inserting in lieu thereof the word " or "

3 . Section twenty of the said Act is amended by adding at

the end thereof the following words :—" This section shall take effect from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seven."

4 . Section twenty-eight of the said Act is amended in subsection

one by omitting the words " for horseracing or pony-racing, as the

case may be ."
