s1 4 s5 Fruit Marketing Organisation Amendment No. 31, 1995 The Parliament of Queensland enacts— ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Fruit Marketing Organisation Amendment Act 1995 . ˙ Commencement 2. This Act commences on 31 August 1995. ˙ Act amended 3. This Act amends the Fruit Marketing Organisation Act 1923 . ˙ Amendment of s 2 (Definitions) 4.(1) Section 2, definition “fruit” , ‘pineapples,’— omit. (2) Section 2, definition “other fruits” , before ‘raspberries’— insert — ‘pineapples,’. ˙ Amendment of s 11 (Constitution of sectional group committees) 5.(1) Section 11(1) and (5), ‘six’— omit. (2) Section 11(1), ‘Pineapple group committee,’— omit.

s6 5 s7 Fruit Marketing Organisation Amendment No. 31, 1995 ˙ Amendment of s 21 (Period of office of elected members and consumers’ representative on COD) 6.(1) Section 21(1), (3) and (5)(a), ‘28 February 1995’— omit, insert — ‘29 February 1996’. (2) Section 21(1)(a), after ‘COD’— insert — ‘(other than the representatives of the pineapple group committee)’. (3) Section 21(4), ‘1995’— omit, insert — ‘1996’. (4) Section 21— insert — ‘ (4A) A person is not entitled to be paid compensation because the person’s period of office is not extended under this section.’. ˙ Insertion of new ss 22 and 23 7. After section 21— insert — ˙ ‘ Dissolution of pineapple group committee ‘ 22.(1) The pineapple group committee is dissolved and the period of office of its members ends. 1 ‘ (2) A person is not entitled to be paid compensation because the person’s period of office ends under subsection (1). ‘ (3) This section expires on the day it commences. 1 The pineapple group committee was established under section 11 (Constitution of sectional group committees).

s7 6 s7 Fruit Marketing Organisation Amendment No. 31, 1995 ˙ ‘ Vesting of assets and liabilities of pineapple group committee ‘ 23.(1) On the commencement, the assets, rights and liabilities of the pineapple group committee vest in the other fruits committee. ‘ (2) A legal proceeding by or against the pineapple group committee that has not been finished before the commencement may be continued and finished by or against the other fruits committee. ‘ (3) This section expires on the day it commences.’.
