40 Fruit Marketing Organisation Acts Amendment Act 1980, No. 4 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Fruit Marketing Organisation Acts Amendment Act 1980. (2) In this Act, The Fruit Marketing Organisation Act of 1923 as subsequently amended is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the FruitMarketingOrganisationAct1923-1980. 2. Commencement . . This Act shall commence on a day to be fixed by Proclamation. 3. Amendment of s. 2 . Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by, in the meaning of the term " Vegetables ", omitting the words " potatoes, onions, pumpkins, swede turnips, or of any other " and substituting the word " any ". 4. Amendment of s. 6 . Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in paragraph (vi) of subsection (5)- (i) inserting after the word " fruit," where it occurs the first time and the second time the words " flowers, flowering and other plants and shrubs and horticultural and nursery products,"; (ii) inserting after the words " to purchase fruit " the words ", flowers, flowering and other plants and shrubs and horticultural and nursery products "; (b) in subsection (7), omitting the words " potatoes, onions, pumpkins, swede turnips, and any other " and substituting the word " any". 5. Amendment of s. 6C. Section 6c of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after the words " fruit and vegetables " where twice occurring the words ", flowers, flowering and other plants and shrubs and horticultural and nursery products ". 6. Amendment of s. 6F. Section 6F of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), omitting the words " potatoes, onions, pumpkins, swede turnips, and any other " and substituting the word " any ".

Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (3), inserting after the words " any absence of the said Director" occurring in the first paragraph thereof the words " or he may appoint other persons with the general authority as aforesaid, any one of whom may so act during any absence of the said Director ".
