1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Fruit and Plant Protection Regulations 1996.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on 4 November 1996.

3—Interpretation

In these regulations—

Act means the Fruit and Plant Protection Act 1992.

4—Expiation fee

For the purposes of section 13(7) of the Act, the following scale of expiation fees is prescribed:

(a)$55: if the offence involves 10 or less—

•bunches of grapes; or

•punnets of berryfruits; or

•other fruits; or

•living plants; or

•plant cuttings; or

(b)$105: if the offence involves more than 10 but not more than 20—

•bunches of grapes; or

•punnets of berryfruits; or

•other fruits; or

•living plants; or

•plant cuttings; or

(c)$210: in any other case.
