SUBVENTION ACT.

An Act to appropriate and apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales certain sums by way of subvention to certain friendly societies to be appor- tioned, paid, and applied in the manner and subject to the provisions of Part VIII of the Friendly Societies Act, 1912-1931. Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of
the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the "Friendly Societies Subvention Act, 1931," and shall be read with the Friendly Societies Act, 1912-1931.

2. Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there is hereby appropriated in the financial year ending on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two and in each succeeding financial year the sum

of fifty thousand pounds as a subvention to applicant
societies, and to be apportioned, paid, and applied in the
manner and subject to the provisions of Part V I I I of
the Friendly Societies Act, 1912-1931.
3. The Colonial Treasurer shall issue and pay in each
financial year the said sum in such proportions as the
Governor by any warrant or order in writing under his

hand and directed to the said Treasurer may from time to time order and direct and in such proportions to each applicant society as the Registrar certifies under the

provisions of section seventy-nine of the Friendly Societies Act, 1912-1931, and the payments so to be

made shall be charged upon and payable out of the said
Consolidated Revenue Fund.
4. The said Treasurer shall in his accounts from
time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of
money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order

in writing and in accordance with such certificate as aforesaid, and the receipts of the respective persons to

whom the same are so paid shall be a full and valid dis­
charge to the said Treasurer in passing his said accounts
for any such sum as is therein mentioned, and he shall
receive credit for the same accordingly.
