Friendly Societies (Amendment) Regulations 1999

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the definition of "financial sector supervising agency" in the Principal Regulations consequential upon the enactment of the Financial Sector Reform (Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Act 1998 of the Commonwealth.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 12 of the Friendly Societies (Victoria) Act 1996.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Friendly Societies
Regulations 19971 are called the Principal
Regulations.

4. Secrecy

(1) In regulation 33(1)(a) of the Principal Regulations

after "Securities" insert "and Investments".

(2) For regulation 33(1)(b) of the Principal

Regulations substitute—

"(b) the Australian Prudential Regulation

Authority;".
