s1 2 s2 Friendly Societies Amendment (No. 1) No. 123, 1995 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Friendly Societies Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1995 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Friendly Societies Regulation 1991 . Amendment of s 19 (Investment of funds) 3.(1) Section 19(2)— renumber as subsection (3). (2) Section 19— insert— ‘ (2) A friendly society may also invest its funds from any source— (a) in the withdrawable shares of, or on the deposit of an amount with, a building society (other than a building society approved for section 21(1)(k) of the Trusts Act 1973 ); and (b) in the withdrawable shares of, or on the deposit of an amount with, a credit union.’.
