[ASSENTED TO 29TH SEPTEMBER, 1943.] 7 GEO. VI. No. 26. THE FRIENDLY SOOIETIES ACTS AMENDMENT AOT OF 1943. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :-. 1 This Act may be cited as " The Friendly Societies Short title Acts Amendment Act of 1943" and shall be read as one : ~! tructio with *" The Friendly Societies Acts, 1913 to 1942," herein n. referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively Collective cited as " The Friendly Societies Acts, 1913 to 1943." title. Amendments of the Principal Act. 2. Rule ten of the Second Schedule to the Principal Amendment Act is renumbered sub-rule one of rule ten and is further ~ i Sch~ ule amended by the addition thereto of the following sub- ., r. . rules, namely :- " (2.) All moneys received by or on behalf of a society or branch not required to be paid into a special current account with a bank opened in accordance with sub-rule one of this rule, shall be paid into an account with a bank, such account to be in the name of such society or branch or of the trustees as trustees of such society or branch and to be operated on by two or more of such trustees. (3.) All moneys payable pursuant to sub-rules one and two of this rule into an account with a bank shall be banked promptly and such banking shall be the total of all receipts in hand up to the close of the next preceding day. (4.) Except as hereinafter provided in this rule, every payment How from the funds of a society or branch, including investments of funds, payments shall be made by cheque. from funds to be made. (5.) Each cheque shall be drawn to the order of the payee, crossed and denoted" Not Negotiable." (6.) The provisions of sub-rules four and five of this rule shall not apply in respect of any disbursement from petty cash not exceeding one pound. * 4 G. 5 No. 13 and amending Acts. An amount shall not be separated or divided with intent to evade the provisions of sub-rules four and five of this rule by paying same by two or more disbursements from petty cash. The facilities provided by the Postmaster-General for bulk postages shall be taken advantage of. All moneys drawn from the funds of the society or branch for the purpose of disbursements from petty cash shall be by cheque pay- able to the order of the officer or officers entrusted with making such disbursements. (7.) No trustee, member of the committee of management, or officer of a society or branch shall sign any cheque form or voucher, or any instrument or writing creating or evidencing any right, title, estate or interest in or to any property, which is blank, or imperfectly or not properly filled in." -------- SOMERSET DAM.
