B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, . by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. This Act may be cited as " The Friendly Societies Short title Acts Amendment Act of 1939," and shall be read as one and t et' with *" The Friendly Societies Acts, 1913 to 1938," herein cons ru Ion. referred to as the Principal Act. Principal Act the words "on or before the first day of March " are repealed and the words "before the first day of September" are inserted in lieu of such repealed words. LoanB to 3. Notwithstanding anything contained in *" The :::!.bers Friendly Societies Acts, 1913 to 1939," or in the fina?cial rules of any friendly society, it shall be lawful :~ : : ! t War for. a society or. ~ ranch, up?n the trustees being authorised. satisfied and certifymg in wrltmg that any member thereof is unabl~ to payor secure any moneys due or .accruing due by him as a member owing to service in any capacity with or in connection with His Majesty's Imperial Forces, the Forces of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Forces of any other Dominion or part of the British Empire, or the Forces of His Majesty's Allies o:q. land or sea or in the air during the present War, or owing to unemployment or lack of means or other sufficient cause arising in connection with or as a result of the present War, from time to time to advance, out of any funds of the society or branch, such sums as are required t,o meet such obligations of such member to such society or branch; and such advance shall be deemed to have been made on the personal security of such member, and to be a debt hy him to the society or 'branch. . * 4 Geo.
