AN ACT to amend the Friendly Societies Act,

1894-1948.

[Assented to 7th November, 1952.]

RE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Friendly

Societies Act Amendment Act, 1952.

In this Act, the Friendly Societies Act, 1894-

1948—

Act 58 Vict., No. 23, as reprinted with amend- ments to and including Act No. 48 of 1923, incorporated in the Sessional Volume of the Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia of the Third Session of the Eleventh Parliament, 1923, and further amended by Acts Nos. 38 of 1930, 38 of 1938, 41 of 1939, 13 of 1946, and 26 of 1948

is referred to as the principal Act.

The principal Act, as amended by this Act,

may be cited as the Friendly Societies Act, 1894-

1952.

mended.

2. Section seven of the principal Act is amended

by

(a)

deleting the first proviso;

(b)

deleting the word, "also," in line one of the second proviso.

3. Section thirty-six of the principal Act is 8.36

amended by deleting the words, "after the rate of ariend°d•

more than sixty shillings a week by way of a

periodical payment, or" in lines three and four.
