AN ACT to authorise the Construction of a

Railway from Fremantle to Owen's Anchorage.

[Assented to, 23rd December, P97.]

Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and

with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1.     THIS Act may be cited as the Fremantle-Owen's Anchor-

age Railway Act, 1897.

Short title.

2.      IT shall be lawful to construct and maintain a railway from

Fremantle to Owen's Anchorage, with all necessary, proper, and construction.

usual works, and conveniences in connection therewith, in the line

described in the Schedule of this Act.

Deviation.

3. IT shall be lawful for the Commissioner of Railways to

deviate from the line as described in such Schedule, to the extent of

half-a-mile on either side thereof.

to this Act.

SCHEDULE.

FREMANTLE-OWEN'S ANCHORAGE RAILWAY.

DESCRIPTION OF LINE OF RAILWAY.

Commencing at a point at or near the Government Railway Sheds in the vicinity of Dalgety Street, at Fremantle, thence proceeding across and along Marine Terrace, Fremantle; and continuing along the coast line in a generally Southerly direction and terminating thereon at a distance of 2 miles 55 chains, or thereabouts, from the said Railway Sheds ; as more particularly delineated and coloured red on Map marked P.W.D., W.A. 5947, deposited as provided for by 55 Victoria;, No. 34, Section 10.
