AN ACT to provide for the postponement until the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty-one of the election of members of the Fremantle Municipal Transport Board required to be held in the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty, and for other and incidental purposes.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Fremantle

2. In this Act

"Board" means the Fremantle Municipal

Transport Board constituted under the Act;

"the Act" means the Fremantle Municipal

Tramways and Electric Lighting Act, 1903.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the Act, place of retiring members which election is required under the provisions of section thirty-seven of the Act to be held on the fourth Saturday in November in the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty shall not be held on that day but shall be postponed until the fourth Saturday in November in the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty-one.

The four members of the Board elected at the election held under the Act in the year one thousand nine hundred and fifty-eight shall, notwithstanding the provisions of section thirty-six of the Act, continue to hold office as members of the Board for a period of one year after the date when under that section their term of office would but for this section have expired.
