An Act to amend the " Parliamentary Elec­ torates and Elections Act of 1893" by extending the franchise to certain persons disqualified from voting* under the said Act, [31st October, 1896.]

BE it enacted by the Queen ' s Most Exce l len t Majesty, by and wi th t he advice and consent of the Legislat ive Council and
Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South Wales in P a r l i a m e n t assembled,

and by the au thor i ty of t h e same, as fo l lows:—

1. Subject to the provisions of t he Par l i amenta ry Elec tora tes and Elect ions A c t of 1893, and any A c t amending the same, every person who holds t he office of Inspec tor -Genera l or Super in tenden t of Police, or is a constable or o ther person belonging to the Cons tabu la ry Eorce shall , if no t disqualified or incapaci ta ted under any S ta tu te , be

qualified as an elector unde r t he said Ac t s , a n y t h i n g to t he cont ra ry
in section twen ty - th ree , subsect ion ( i n ) , of t he P a r l i a m e n t a r y Elec to­
ra tes and Elect ions A c t of 1893 no twi ths tand ing .
2. This A c t m a y be cited as t he " F ranch i se Ex tens ion Ac t ,

1896."
