AN ACT to amend the Forests Act, 1918.

[Assented to 16th January, 1925.]

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :—

Short tale.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Forests Act Amend- ment Act, 1924, and shall be read as one with the Forests

Act, 1918, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Amendment or

(1.) Subsection (2) of section forty-one of the prin- cipal Act is amended by inserting after the word " depart- ment," in the first line thereof, the words " except as here- inafter provided, revenue derived from sandalwood," and a proviso is added to subsection (3), as follows :-

Provided that ten per centum of the net revenue from sandalwood or the sum of five thousand pounds, which- ever sum shall be the greater, shall be credited to the said special account at the Treasury and applied to the re-growth of sandalwood.

(2.) The said subsection shall have effect as hereby amended from the commencement of the financial year 1924-1925.

Limit of duration of 3. This Act shall continue in force till the thirtieth day
