FORESTRY ACT 1916—REGULATION

(Relating to penalties)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Forestry Act 1916, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 May 1994.

Amendment

2. The Forestry Regulation 1983 is amended by omitting from clause 124 the matter “$500” and by inserting instead the matter “20 penalty units”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to increase the maximum penalty for offences under the Forestry Regulation 1983 to the maximum amount permitted to be imposed by a regulation under the Forestry Act 1916.

This Regulation is made under the Forestry Act 1916, including section 41 (the

general regulation-making power).
