FOOTWEAR REGULATION.

No. 46 of 1949.
AN ACT to amend the Footwear Regulation Act, 191.
[Assented to 26th October, 1949.]
BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
| Short title. | 1. |
(1) This Act may be cited as the Footwear Regula- tion Act Amendment Act, 1949, and shall be read as one with the Footwear Regulation Act, 1916 (Act No. 2 of 1917), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.
(2) This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by proclamation.

| Amendment |
| of s. 3. | 3. | Section three of the principal Act is amended by |
| (a) | substituting for the words "does not include" in line one of the interpretation, "Shoes", the word "includes"; |
| (b) | adding after the word "sole" in line six of the interpretation, "Sole", the words "and also except thread, wax, rivets, pegs, nails, toe plates and heel plates"; |
(c) adding before the interpretation, "This Act",
the following interpretation:
"Statement of materials" means a state-
ment of materials composing the sole;

(d) adding after the word "Act" in line two of the interpretation, 'Phis Act", the following interpretation:—
"To sell" means to sell by wholesale or retail and includes barter, supply for profit, offer for sale, receive for sale, have in possession for sale, expose for sale, send forward or deliver for sale, cause or suffer or allow to be sold, and the disposal or offer for disposal of goods under hire purchase agreement; and "sale" and "sold" and other derivatives have a corresponding meaning;.
