19 o ttEEtt5l2itt4 ANNO OCTODECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 6 of 1969 An Act to Amend The Foot and Mouth Disease Expenses and Compensation Fund Act of 1958 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 27TH OCTOBER, 1969] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease Expenses and Compensation Fund Act Amendment Act 1969. (2) The Foot and Mouth Disease Expenses and Compensation Fund Act of 1958 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease Expenses and Compensation Fund Act 1958-1969. 2. Amendment of s. 23 (1). Subsection (1) of section 23 of the Principal Act is amended- (a) by omitting paragraph (a) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:- (a) Prescribing, providing for, regulating and controlling the seizure and destruction of any animal or carcass in circumstances and in any manner and by any means deemed necessary or expedient to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease and for its control and eradication, including, but without limiting
20 Foot and Mouth Disease, Etc., Act Amendment Act 1969, No. 6 the foregoing, the providing for the seizure and destruction of any animal or carcass where in the opinion of an inspector or other person prescribed such seizure and destruction is necessary or expedient for the purpose of controlling, eradicating or preventing the spread of foot and mouth disease;"; (b) by omitting paragraph (b) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:- (b) Prescribing, providing for, regulating and controlling the seizure and destruction of any property in circumstances and in any manner and by any means deemed necessary or expedient to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease and for its control and eradication, including, but without limiting the foregoing, the providing for the seizure and destruction of any property where in the opinion of an inspector or other person prescribed such seizure and destruction is necessary or expedient for the purpose of controlling, eradicating or preventing the spread of foot and mouth disease;".
