FOOD PRODUCTION (SAFETY) ACT 1998 No 128—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS. Governor.

I. the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales. with the advice of the Executive Council. and in pursuance of section 2 of the Food Production (Safety) Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation. appoint 18 December 1998 as the day on which that Act commences, except the following provisions:

(a)	sections 9 (2) (a) and (c)-(e) and 14,
(b)	Part 5,
(c)	section 71 ( 1 ) and (2),
(d)	Schedules 2 and 3,
(e)	Schedule 4.2 [ l ] , 4.3 [2] and [3], 4.4 [2] and [3] and 4.5,
( f )	Part 2 of Schedule 5.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation commences certain provisions of the Food Production (Safety) Act 1998, including provisions that establish Safe Food Production NSW (Safe Food),

enable the Chief Executive Officer of Sate Food to be appointed, confer the function on Safe Food o f providing advice to the Minister on the establishment of food safety schemes and enable the Minister to establish the Safe Food Production Advisory Committee.
