Commencement Proclamation

under the

Food Amendment (Food Safety Supervisors) Act 2009 No 85

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Food Amendment (Food Safety Supervisors) Act 2009, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 9 July 2010 as the day on which that Act commences, except so much of Schedule 1 [4] as inserts sections 106C–106G into the Food Act 2003.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Food Amendment (Food Safety Supervisors) Act 2009 on 9 July 2010 except so much of it as inserts sections 106C–106G into the Food Act 2003. Those sections create offences in relation to the failure to appoint, and to notify the appointment of, food safety supervisors for certain food businesses and the failure to keep copies of food safety supervisor certificates on the relevant premises.
