Food (Amendment) Act 1998

An Act to amend the Food Act 1992

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Short title

   This Act may be cited as the Food (Amendment) Act 1998.

2. Principal Act

   In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Food Act 1992.1

3. Insertion

   After section 2 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:

“2A.   Commencement of section 24B

1. Despite subsection 2 (4) of the Food (Amendment) Act 1997, section 24B is deemed not to have commenced under that subsection.

2. Section 24B commences on—

   (a)a day fixed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette; or

(b)20 September 1999;

whichever first occurs.”.
