atory The object of this Regulation is to repeal clause 82 of the Food (General) Regulation 1997. The clause requires oyster producers to treat oysters in a purification plant approved by the Director-General of Health. The repeal is consequent on the transfer of provisions relating to the purification of oysters to the aquaculture regulations made under the Fisheries Management Act 1994 I994 (see proposed Fisheries Management (Aquaculture) Amendment Regulation 1999). The Regulation is made under the Food Act 1989, including section 90.

3 Repeal of clause 82 (Oyster purification) of Food (General) Regulation 1997
The Food (General) Regulation 1997 is amended by omitting clause 82.
