FOOD ACT 1989 - REGULATION

(Relating to the securing of foods from contamination)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Food Act 1989 and on the recommendation of the Food Advisory Committee, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 26 October 1990.

Amendments

2. The Food Regulations 1937 are amended:

(a)

by omitting from Regulation 77 (26) the words "packing or serving" wherever occuring and by inserting instead the word "handling";

(b)

by omitting from Regulation 77 (26) the word "serve" wherever occurring and by inserting instead the word "handle".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend thc Food Regulations 1937 so as to

oblige persons involvcd in handling food to avoid unnecessary contact with it.
