FOOD ACT 1989 - REGULATION
(Consequent on the commencement of the Food Act 1989)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, on the recommendation of the Food Advisory Committee, and in pursuance of the Food Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 11th May 1990.
Amendment of Food Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989
2. Clause 5 of the Food Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989
is amended by omitting the word "Pure" wherever occurring.
Amendment of the Code
3. The Food Standards Code set out in Schedule 1 to the Food
Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989 is amended:
(a)
by omitting from the definition of "approved" in clause 5 of the Preliminary Provisions the word "Secretary" and by inserting instead the word "Director-General";

| (b) | by omitting from the definition of "the Act" in clause 5 of the Preliminary Provisions the words "Pure Food Act 1908" and by inserting instead the words "Food Act 1989"; |
| (c) | by omitting Standard A1 (1A); |
| (d) | by omitting from Standard D1 (7) (c) (iv), (d) and (e) (ii) the word "Secretary" wherever occuring and by inserting instead the word "Director-General". |
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Food Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989 and the Code contained in that Regulation so as to alter certain references as a consequence of the commencement of the Food Act 1989. The Regulation also repeals a Standard contained in the Code, the provisions of which are made obsolete by the new Act.
