FOOD ACT 1989—REGULATION

(Adopting amendments to the National Food Standards Code)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,

and in pursuance of the Food Act 1989 and on the recommendation of the Food Advisory Committee, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 16th April, 1992.

Amendments

2. The Food Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989 is amended:

(a) by omitting from Schedule 1 clauses (7A) and (7B) of Standard O2 and clauses (7) and (8) of Standard O7;
(b) by incorporating in the Food Standards Code set out in Schedule 1 to that Regulation:

(i)  the amendments to the Food Standards Code of the National Health and Medical Research Council made by Amendment No. 10 published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. P 16 on 21 June 1991; and

(ii)  the amendments (with the exception of the amendments made to Standard C1) to the Food Standards Code of the National Health and Medical Research Council made by Amendment No. 11 published in the Commonwealth of

Australia Gazette No. P 22 on 14 August 1991.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Food Standards Code (Adoption) Regulation 1989 adopted (with certain modifications) the Food Standards Code of the National Health and Medical Research Council.

The object of this Regulation is to amend that Regulation so as to adopt certain amendments to that Code which were published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. P 16 on 21 June 1991 and No. P 22 on 14 August 1991 and to make certain consequential amendments.

The amendments to Standard C1 made by that publication are not adopted

because the relevant standards have not been adopted in New South Wales.
