An Act to exempt for a certain t ime from Duty
and Wharfage Kates Flour and Meal imported

into New South Wales. [30th October, 1835.]

WH E R E A S by an A c t of t he Governor of N e w South Wales w i th t h e advice of t h e Legis la t ive Counci l thereof passed
in t h e e leventh year of t he re ign of H i s late Majes ty K i n g George
t he F o u r t h in t i tu led " An Act for confirming certain Rates and Duties
" heretofore levied and collected in the Colony and for continuing

" the like Hates and Duties until further provision shall be " made " i t was amongs t o ther t h ings enacted t h a t all goods except those in t h e said reci ted Ac t pa r t i cu la r ly ment ioned no t be ing t h e g r o w t h p roduce or manufac tu re of t he U n i t e d K i n g d o m im­ por ted in to t h e said Colony should be subject to a ra te or du ty of five pounds s ter l ing on every h u n d r e d pounds value and whereas by a cer ta in other Ac t of t h e said Governor and Counci l passed in t he th i rd year of t he r e ign of H i s p resen t Majesty K i n g

all flour and mea l l anded a t t he K i n g ' s W h a r f should be subject to cer ta in wharfage ra tes t he re in ment ioned and whereas i t is expe­ dient for a cer ta in per iod to exempt flour and mea l from the said du ty and wharfage ra tes Be i t therefore enacted by H i s Exce l lency

t h e Governor of N e w South W a l e s wi th t he advice of t h e Legis la t ive

Counci l thereof Tha t from and after t he pass ing of th i s Ac t all mea l a n d flour impor ted in to t he said Colony on or before t he first day of October one thousand eight h u n d r e d and th i r ty-s ix shall be exempted

from t h e said du ty and all mea l and flour landed a t t h e K i n g ' s

W h a r f Sydney wi th in the same period shall also be exempted from the said wharfage ra tes any t h i n g in t h e said reci ted Acts to t he

con t ra ry no twi ths tand ing .
