Flinders University (Remuneration of Council Members) Amendment Act 2019

An Act to amend the Flinders University Act 1966.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Flinders University (Remuneration of Council Members) Amendment Act 2019.

2Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2Amendment of Flinders University Act 19663Insertion of section 7

After section 6 insert:

7—Remuneration of Council members

1. (1)

   The Council may, from time to time, determine that a member of the Council be remunerated.

2. (2)

   A determination under subsection (1) may fix different amounts of remuneration for different members of the Council according to the office held by the member or any other factor the Council considers relevant.

3. (3)

   The regulations may make further provision in relation to a determination under subsection (1), including prescribing circumstances in which the Council may not determine to remunerate a member of the Council.

4. (4)

   Section 18C does not apply in relation to the making of a determination under this section.
