Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fishing Levy (Northern Fish Trawl Fishery) Regulations.*1* SEE NOTES TO FIRST ARTICLE OF THIS CHAPTER .
FISHING LEVY (NORTHERN FISH TRAWL FISHERY) REGULATIONS - REG 2
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
"Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone" means the part of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery specified in Part 1 of the Schedule;
"fishing permit" means a fishing permit for fishing in one or both of the zones of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery;
"Levy Act" means the Fishing Levy Act 1991;
"Management Act" means the Fisheries Management Act 1991;
"Northern Fish Trawl Fishery" means the part of the Australian fishing zone that comprises the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone and the Timor Sea Zone;
"Timor Sea Zone" means the part of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery specified in Part 2 of the Schedule.

Amount of levy
3. For the purposes of section 6 of the Levy Act, the amount of levy prescribed for a fishing permit that is granted in the period beginning at the commencement of this regulation and ending at the end of 30 June 1994 is:
(a) in the case of a permit for the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone - $10,230; and
(b) in the case of a permit for the Timor Sea Zone - $10,230; and
(c) in the case of a permit for both the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone and the Timor Sea Zone - $20,460.

When levy is due and payable
4. For the purposes of section 110 of the Management Act, levy is due and payable for a fishing permit on the grant of the permit.

SCHEDULE 1 Regulation 2
NORTHERN FISH TRAWL FISHERY
PART 1 - ARAFURA SEA AND GULF OF CARPENTARIA ZONE
The area bounded by a line:
(a) beginning at the point of latitude 10 degrees 30' south,
longitude 131 degrees east; and
(b) running:
(i) from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 10 degrees
30' south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 133 degrees 16'
east; and
(ii) from there southerly along that meridian to its intersection
by the parallel of latitude 11 degrees south; and
(iii) from there south-easterly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 11 degrees 25' south, longitude 134 degrees 15' east; and
(iv) from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 11 degrees
25' south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude
135 degrees 35' east; and
(v) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 11 degrees 05' south, longitude 136 degrees 10' east; and
(vi) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 10 degrees 30' south, longitude 136 degrees 40' east; and
(vii) from there south-easterly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 11 degrees south, longitude 137 degrees 05' east; and
(viii) from there southerly along the meridian of longitude 137 degrees
05' east to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 11 degrees 47' south;
and
(ix) from there north-easterly along the geodesic between that
point and the point of latitude 11 degrees 10' south, longitude 141 degrees
east, to the intersection of that geodesic by the meridian of
longitude 137 degrees 24' east; and
(x) from there southerly along that meridian to its intersection
by the parallel of latitude 13 degrees 30' south; and
(xi) from there easterly along that parallel to its intersection
by the meridian of longitude 141 degrees east; and
(xii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 12 degrees 30' south, longitude 141 degrees 20' east; and
(xiii) from there northerly along the meridian of longitude 141 degrees
20' east to its intersection by the outer limit of the
Australian fishing zone; and
(xiv) from there generally westerly along that outer limit to its
intersection by the meridian of longitude 131 degrees east; and
(xv) from there southerly along that meridian to the point where
the line began.
PART 2 - TIMOR SEA ZONE
The area bounded by a line:
(a) beginning at the point of latitude 15 degrees 28' south,
longitude 123 degrees 45' east; and
(b) running:
(i) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 14 degrees 53' south, longitude 124 degrees 08' east; and
(ii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 14 degrees 12' south, longitude 124 degrees 50' east; and
(iii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 13 degrees 28' south, longitude 125 degrees 43' east; and
(iv) from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 13 degrees
28' south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude
127 degrees east; and
(v) from there easterly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 13 degrees 21' south, longitude 129 degrees 40' east; and
(vi) from there northerly along the meridian of longitude 129 degrees
40' east to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 12 degrees
30' south; and
(vii) from there westerly along that parallel to its intersection
by the meridian of longitude 128 degrees 23' 07" east; and
(viii) from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 12 degrees 26' 30" south, longitude 128 degrees 22' east;
and
(ix) from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 11 degrees 48' south, longitude 127 degrees 53' 45" east; and
(x) from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 11 degrees 13' 32" south, longitude 127 degrees 32' 11"
east; and
(xi) from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 11 degrees 15' south, longitude 127 degrees 31' east; and
(xii) from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 11 degrees 18' south, longitude 127 degrees 01' east; and
(xiii) from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point
of latitude 11 degrees 18' 14" south, longitude 126 degrees 58' east;
and
(xiv) from there westerly along the geodesic to the point of
latitude 11 degrees 19' south, longitude 126 degrees 48' east, being
a point on the outer limit of the Australian fishing zone; and
(xv) from there generally westerly along that outer limit to its
intersection by the meridian of longitude 123 degrees 45' east; and
(xvi) from there south along that meridian to the point where the
line began.
