  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fishing Levy (North West Slope
Trawl Fishery) Regulations.*1*

Interpretation 


  2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

  "fishing permit" means a fishing permit for fishing in the North West Slope
Trawl Fishery;

  "Levy Act" means the Fishing Levy Act 1991;

  "Management Act" means the Fisheries Management Act 1991;

  "North West Slope Trawl Fishery" means the part of the Australian fishing
zone specified in the Schedule.

Amount of levy 


  3. For the purposes of section 6 of the Levy Act, the amount of levy
prescribed for a fishing permit is:

  (a) in the case of a permit granted on or before 30 June 1993 - $4,830; and

  (b) in the case of a permit granted in the period beginning on 1 July 1993
and ending at the end of 30 June 1994 - $1,985.

When levy is due and payable 


  4. For the purposes of section 110 of the Management Act, levy is due and
payable for a fishing permit:

  (a) if the permit is granted before the commencement of this regulation - on
or before 14 April 1994; and

  (b) if the permit is granted after the commencement of this regulation - on
the grant of the permit.

  The area bounded by a line:

  (a) beginning at the point of latitude 20 degrees 54' south, longitude

114 degrees east; and

  (b) running:

    (i) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 19 degrees 50' south, longitude 115 degrees 13' east; and

    (ii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 18 degrees 58' south, longitude 115 degrees 45' east; and

    (iii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 16 degrees 39' south, longitude 119 degrees 18' east; and

    (iv) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 15 degrees 03' south, longitude 120 degrees 51' east; and

    (v) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 13 degrees 11' south, longitude 122 degrees 02' east; and

    (vi) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 12 degrees 51' south, longitude 122 degrees 37' east; and

    (vii) from there northerly along the meridian of longitude 122 degrees

37' east to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 12 degrees 01'

south; and

    (viii) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

latitude 11 degrees 45' south, longitude 122 degrees 42' east; and

    (ix) from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of

intersection of the meridian of longitude 123 degrees 06' east by the

outer limit of the Australian fishing zone; and

    (x) from there generally easterly along that outer limit to its

intersection by the meridian of longitude 124 degrees east; and

    (xi) from there southerly along the meridian of longitude to its

intersection by the parallel of latitude 13 degrees 19' 30" south; and

    (xii) from there westerly to the point of latitude 13 degrees 19' 30"
