  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fishing Levy (Great Australian
Bight Trawl Fishery) Regulations.*1*

Interpretation 


  2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

  "Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery Management Plan" means the plan of
management that is in force from time to time in respect of trawl fishing in
the Great Australian Bight;

  "Levy Act" means the Fishing Levy Act 1991;

  "Management Act" means the Fisheries Management Act 1991;

  "fishing right" means a statutory fishing right held under the Great
Australian Bight Trawl Fishery Management Plan.

Amount of levy 


  3. For the purposes of section 6 of the Levy Act, the amount of levy
prescribed for a fishing right is the sum of:

   (a) $7,000; and

   (b) $7,000 for each year that the fishing right is in force

(except the year in which the fishing right was granted).

When levy is due and payable 


   4. For the purposes of section 110 of the Management Act:

   (a) the amount of levy specified in paragraph 3 (a) is due and

payable on the grant of a fishing right; and

   (b) the amount of levy specified in paragraph 3 (b) is due and

payable on each 1 January following the grant of the fishing right.
