I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Fisheries Management Act 1991 and the Fishing Levy Act 1991.

1Name of Regulations

 These Regulations are the Fishing Levy Amendment Regulations 2000 (No. 1).

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3Amendment of Fishing Levy Regulations 1999

Schedule 1 amends the Fishing Levy Regulations 1999.

4A.1Definition

 In this Part:

ECDZF fishing permit means a fishing permit for the East Coast Deepwater Zone Fishery.

4A.2Amount of Levy

 For section 6 of the Levy Act, the amount of levy for an ECDZF fishing permit in force at any time between the commencement of this regulation and the end of 30 June 2000 is $2 844.13.

4A.3When levy must be paid

 For section 110 of the Management Act, levy for an ECDZF fishing permit must be paid on or before the later of:

  • (a)

    15 May 2000; and

  • (b)

    28 days after the invoice date for the levy.
