Fisheries Research and Development Corporation Amendment Regulations 2006 (No. 1)¹

Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation Amendment Regulations 2006 (No. 1).

Commencement

These Regulations commence, or are taken to have commenced, as follows:

(a)on 1 July 1999 — regulations 1 to 3 and item 1 in Schedule 1;

(b)on 1 July 2000 — item 2 in Schedule 1;

(c)on 1 July 2001 — item 3 in Schedule 1;

(d)on 1 July 2002 — item 4 in Schedule 1;

(e)on 1 July 2003 — item 5 in Schedule 1;

(f)on 1 July 2004 — item 6 in Schedule 1;

(g)on 1 July 2005 — item 7 in Schedule 1;

(h)on the day after these Regulations are registered — item 8 in Schedule 1.

Amendment of Fisheries Research and Development Corporation Regulations 1991

Schedule 1 amends the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation Regulations 1991.

[1] Subregulation 4A (2)

substitute

(2)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 1999, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 10.3% of the levy.

[2] After subregulation 4A (2)

insert

(2A)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2000, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 10.1% of the levy.

[3] After subregulation 4A (2A)

(2B)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2001, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 10.4% of the levy.

(2C)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2002, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 9.5% of the levy.

(2D)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2003, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 8.7% of the levy.

(2E)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2004, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 8.2% of the levy.

(2F)For paragraph 5 (3) (a) of the Act, for the financial year beginning on 1 July 2005, the research component of the levy mentioned in subregulation (1) is 6.7% of the levy.

After subregulation 4A (3)

(4)If the Corporation has received levy payments during a financial year mentioned in subregulations (2) to (2F), the amount of the research component of the levy for that year is to be reduced by any payments of levy already made to the Corporation for that year.
